Do you love to get involved and want to join the Oar-Some Maths Mission?
Help raise funds to support the Down’s syndrome community!
Time to join the fun!
Please fill out the form below if you are an individual or small group who would like to take part. This helps us plan support needs on the day.
So here are the rules:
All participants MUST BE over the age of 12
A parental waiver is signed on the day for those under 18
Everyone must be confident enough to swim/kick 50m wearing a life jacket and with a buoyancy aid
Having said that: They haven’t had a boat capsize in the 15 years they have been running, but for health and safety, everyone must be comfortable in the water! Don’t forget if you have enough people (12 - 16) you can get a whole boat to yourselves, CLICK HERE TO ENTER A TEAM
Learn and Thrive is all about inclusion - and we’d love for members of the Down’s syndrome and SEND community to get involved!
Every young person with additional learning needs, will be offered a space for an adult supporter in the boat if needed. Each family should base their decision on the knowledge of the young person and their needs. The other people in the boat will be teammates, but will not have any responsibility for the young people. Young people may choose to paddle on the team or be the drummer. It’s up to the teams on the day to decide how they spread their crew.
If you are an individual or a small group, including anyone with additional needs, sign up via the form below. Then we can add you to one of the boats already registered. However, if you have family and friends who fancy a go, you can always just enter an entire boat yourself. No need to share if you would prefer not to!
It is such a brilliant day, and there is something so special about our young people getting involved and being the ones raising the funds and supporting the cause. For our young people and supporters, there is no minimum fundraising, but we would ask that you try to fundraise where possible.
