nasen LIVE 2024

On Friday 5th July, we travelled up to Resorts World at the NEC in Birmingham to attend nasen LIVE 2024! Jo was a guest speaker last year and shared a space with Maths for Life, but this was our first time attending as a team. So what did we think?

We had a fantastic time, and had some insightful conversations with professionals from across the country. Excitingly, we even met some of our users, which is always fantastic for us to hear directly from you all about how you feel about our resources. If you met us on the day, don’t forget to sign up below!

People love that it’s free!

We know that there is a delicate balance between time and money, particularly for our users (teaching professionals, parents, support workers). The more time you can save in preparing for learning, the more time you can spend with your student(s). But - often the expense on specialist educational resources is high, particularly when you have specific needs and topics to cover. That’s why we will always keep our videos and resources free to access and download.

However, there is a desire to have the option to buy ready-made packs of our series, in both projects. So, as a trial, we are printing 100 copies of the Learning for Life series ‘Growing Up and Keeping Safe’. From here we will be able to understand what the demand is like, and then decide if we should expand the trial to other series. If you are interested in hard copy, fill out this form.

These resources have always been needed

Several people told us that while they loved the look of our resources, particularly the recent ‘Changing Adolescent Body’ series, they needed them a few days, weeks, or months beforehand. We know how hard this is - and this is part of the inspiration behind our projects. Jo, our CEO, realised that when her daughter was reaching the age where puberty and RSE was becoming important to teach, she couldn’t find anything that covered what she wanted, or at a low cost. So we made it!

Hopefully, by continuing our work, and helping our users to spread the word about us, we can begin to reach so many more children and young people, when these resources are first needed, and not too late.

The website can be hard to navigate

While we try our best to make accessing the projects easy, there are some restrictions on changes we can make to our website. This doesn’t mean that we don’t want to make it better! You can always send us an email if you’re struggling, and we can assist you in accessing the work. And, we have handy videos to help you navigate the website; one for each project. We’ve also made a new downloadable sheets to help with accessing both projects, one for Teach Me Too and one for Learning for Life.
