Oarsome Maths Mission - The Run-Down!

Sam, member of Learn & Paddle, enjoying the day with a big smile and two thumbs up!

Wow! What a day!

We had an absolutely incredible day at the Kingston Dragon Boat race with our fantastic Oarsome Maths Mission teams!

So far, they’ve raised a combined total of over £15,500! This makes an enormous difference to the thousands of children benefiting from the Teach Me Too project.

How did it go?

A fantastic day was had by all, with all 6 teams taking part in 3 heats across the course of the day. We ended up being very lucky with the weather, which was useful when all our participants came out of the water soaked from all the splashing!

Padel4Down’s was very close to making it to the final, but with national teams and professionals in attendance, there was some tough competition.

What will the money go towards?

We’re very excited to say that we have a new series in Teach Me Too coming up! Funded by the Oarsome Maths Mission, this series is, you guessed it, early years maths concepts. This is an addition to the pre-existing Mathematics series with Inclusively Down, exploring maths building blocks, with support from Maths for Life and the founder and our trustee Karen McGuigan.

A Big Thank You!

It’s all about... seeing so many of the amazing young people that we support

Without our incredible sponsors, this event would not have been anywhere near as successful as it has been. The whole Learn and Thrive team and our community is so incredibly grateful to our sponsors; QCS, Game4Padel, Initium Corporate Finance, and Clandessa.
