How to Make the Most of Our Resources 

At Learn and Thrive, we believe every child deserves access to high-quality, accessible education—whether they’re in mainstream, special schools, or learning at home. Our free projects, Learning for Life and Teach Me Too, are designed to help children with Down’s syndrome and other SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) develop essential life and learning skills at their own pace.

Whether you're a teacher, TA, or parent, our resources are easy to use and flexible to fit your child’s or class’s needs.

The key to reaping the rewards of our resources lies in understanding how to use them effectively. Our resources are designed to be adaptable, serving teachers, students, and educational settings, whether that's at home, in school, or within a support group.

Two Projects, One Purpose

  • Teach Me Too: For children aged 2–7 (Early Years and Key Stage 1). Focused on early learning—like language, number, and everyday routines.

  • Learning for Life: For older children and young people (KS2 and above). Covers RSE, PSHE, and life skills like emotions, friendships, safety, and health.


How to Get the Most from the Resources

Here’s how you can make our videos and resources work for your learners:

1. Watch Together

Sit with your child or class to watch the videos. They’re short, clear, and use simple language. Watching together gives you a chance to pause, explain, or talk about what’s happening.

2. Use the Worksheets

Each video in Learning for Life comes with a worksheet to help check understanding and encourage thinking. Having the activities printed out means your learner can access the visual and kinesthetic learning while activity engaging in the activities. Don’t underestimate the power of active learning.

3. Repeat and Revisit

Children with learning difficulties often benefit from repetition. Feel free to watch the same video several times across the week, or simply do the activities again outside the sessions - You can adjust the activities each time and they’ll pick up something new.

4. Create a Routine

Use one video and worksheet a week as part of your PSHE or life skills lesson. In a school setting, they can be part of SEND group work, nurture groups, or 1:1 sessions.

5. Adapt the Activities

You know your learners best. Pause the video and ask your own questions, simplify ideas, or link the content to real-life situations your child understands.

6. Make it fun and engaging

For our Teach Me Too learners we all know everything has to be based in play! We even have a whole thread dedicated to it!
